The team at CHGA supply and install a variety of different security screens and doors on the Sunshine Coast. Our products are all installed by professionals and we provide a free measure and quote service.
We have outlined some of the different options available for your security screens and doors below – you can choose to mix and match these options as much as you’d like. It is not uncommon to have the stainless steel mesh used in the doors and windows that are at the front and back of the house and then use the diamond grille down the sides of the house. The choice is yours and we are happy to provide you with quotes for different products so that you can compare your options.
Our top-of-the-range barrier and security screens use high-tensile woven stainless steel (marine grade 316) mesh. They combine functionality, strength and aesthetic appeal to offer a secure, comfortable and beautiful view.
The frames are all made from power-coated aluminium and are available in a variety of different colours. We manufacture all of the screens in our Caloundra factory so we can make them to fit just about any sized door or window frame.
Our stainless steel mesh security screens are:

For added peace of mind, we can also incorporate a range of exit screens within the stainless steel security screens, which can be used for safe exit from your home in an emergency.
Our heavy duty 7mm Diamond grille barrier and security screens are a low-maintenance, cost-effective option for keeping your family and your home safe and secure. We combine the highest quality aluminium frame and hardware, together with tempered aluminium grilles for superior strength. They come with single deadlocks as standard and can be fitted with triple-locks for added protection.
We have a large selection of colours available as standard, or can powder-coat to any colour of your choice.
We have a range of insect screening solutions, including retractable systems. Our standard range of insect screens are attractive, practical and economical. Our insect screen doors also differ from those produced by many of our competitors in that we make them from security screen framing and can fit deadlocks to them at the time of manufacture. We do this for two reasons: firstly to make them look more appealing and more robust; and secondly to enable conversion to a diamond grille security or barrier screen in the future.
Pawproof mesh can be used in place of all standard insect screening and is made from heavier gauge fibreglass. This added strength enables Pawproof mesh to withstand the types of actions from your pet that would normally rip or tear standard insect mesh (though please note it will not withstand repeated scratching). Coast and Hinterland Glass and Aluminium can arrange for re-meshing of your existing screens, or to use Pawproof mesh in your new screens.
In addition to the Pawproof Mesh we also offer a range of doggy doors in different sizes that can be inserted into any of our security and fly screened doors.
Kids Safe Screens are made using the flexible fibreglass mesh outlined above in the ‘Pawproof Mesh’ section; it is a heavy gauge flyscreen that has a metal clip that stops the mesh from falling out.
The Kids Safe Screen option provides an additional option that sits between the stainless steel mesh and the diamond grille screen varieties – it is not a security screen in that it can be cut with a knife, but it is strong enough to pass all of the Australian Standards for use on second story houses. So it is a good option for anyone who does not have the budget for stainless steel mesh but does not wish to obscure their view with diamond grille screens.
